Will slower CL RAM be preferance to higher CL on..

  lauie 07:53 28 Jan 2008

Recently, we switched over to Windows Vista, which meant having to upgrade the RAM from 1Gb to 2Gb, because of Vista's memory appetite.

My colleague suggested 3Gb for a signal processing software, which we are using.

The set-up now on the motherboard is:

slot1: 1Gb
slot2: 512Mb
slot3: 1Gb
slot4: 512Mb

(the above set-up is for Dual Channel speed optimisation)

The clock latency for the 1 Gb RAM 'stick' is 5-5-5-12.
The clock latency for the 512 Gb RAM 'sticks' is 4-4-4-16

The question is:

Will the motherboard be 'tide-down' by the slower CL 5-5-5-12 RAM stick.

Thanks for any thoughts or advice,
