Does anyone know if this can cause any problems. rather than go through the whole fluff of wiping clean and redoing everything I want to just have a go at re installing over the top of everything
Every time I've done it there's been no probs, but it's best to b/up data just in case.
put your original cd for win 98 in the cd tray,go to start a box above it type sfc just those three letters (system file checker).the cd will where and windows will check your files and reopair/replace ant faulty ones.
SFC is a good tool, but be wary as updated files (more recent than those on disc) will show up too. The files that present don't necessarily mean they're corrupt.
