Will a CD-RW play in my car???

  SAH 23:38 11 Feb 2003

I know this is not strictly speaking a PC query, but I've recently bought a PC and I just wondered if anyone can tell me if I'll be able to play a CD-RW in my car.

I've got a FORD 5000 unit at the moment, but I want to upgrade to a 6000 CD unit, but what I really need to know first, is if these units can play a CD-RW

Can anyone help me please??

some can, the later models can but the older models can not

cd'rs will work and as they are so cheap, just use them

Most cd players will play cdr's ok, I use cdr's in mine ok.
I have not tried a cd-rw, cdr's are a lot cheaper

CD-RW will not play in car or home stereo's, but CDR will play on both....so it is best just to buy CDR..

Thanks for that madboy33, I won't really be able to tell if it'll play a CD-RW until I buy one I suppose, so like you suggested I may as well by CDRs instead.

sorry Magik™ but you do have cd-rw players for cars click here

Or you could buy a Goodmans portable CD Player which plays recorded MP3s, can fit about 175 tracks on one CDR. Sold in Currys for about £50 and use an adapter kit for use in your car, about £20. Thats what I use and it sounds great.
