WiFi - can't load web pages

  thetraveller 10:19 14 Dec 2007

I often travel & use my laptop successfully from many hotspots etc. However when I visit one of my friends I can log onto his wifi router with no problem but I just can't load web pages! At least I did load one once - it took over 5 min to load Google's home page!!
Is it my problem or his?
I am running Xp Home on a Dell X1

If you machine uses other hotspots ok then unlikely to be your machine other than the security key for his router.

Ny computer tells me I have a strong signal & am "connected to Dave's Network" so presumably I am getting through his security key.
Any other ideas?
Best regards,
