Why window explorer takes so looooong to respond

When i right click a file, it takes ages for the windows to respond. does anybody know why is that?
When i open windows tasl manager, its says the related folder is not responding

Computer is working fine.

There's probably a corrupt system file: command prompt, type sfc /scannow (note space) and pop in xp disc.

all files in this folder and some others but some are ok

some text files(.txt) also take ages

Could you have spyware onboard or a dialler, run spybot and ad-aware click here click here HTH TR

iam going to download adware and have a scan to see if it helps

Scanned adware and it comes back saying there are 164 object recofnized , asked if i want to remove them.shall I? Have a look at the san results.vendors are from My Search, My way speedbar, Gator, Alexa, Cydor, Savenow, Windows(type Reg Data),Trackinf cookies, other. Have to list them here as i do not what the are.

Any advice please

I always delete any spyware, but you can quarantine them so if there's a prob you can fix.

i have deleted all the reported spywares but the problem with my window explorer still there...
