Why this problem with receiving email?

Hello

I have been writing to someone in China recently.

At first there was no problem, but the last few mails I have receieved have not been readable.

What should be the text portion of the message is a large mass of meaningless characters.

This is the start of one of the messages, can anyone help me on this...what should I be telling this person to do? Thank you. Richard

This is a multi-part message in MIME format.

You don't say how the original messages came in.
Looks like the correspondent is sending in Chinese.
So his machine could have reset its self or they have forgotten to switch to English before composing
Something along these lines I suspect
You will have to sort it with them I guess

Looks like the sender is encrypting the messages using a digital ID. Most mail programs can 'read' mail in MIME format, but without the ID info they can't.

Could be your contact is experimenting; ask them to reply in plain text, explaining you can't read their latest mails.
