Why FireFox is better than IE

Hi this is just a quickie but...

Basically i want to prove to my Dad that FireFox is better than IE, do you have suggestions?

Less prone to viruses and hackers.

Takes up less HDD space and recsources.

Why ? It's largely a matter of preference, use the one you like the most, I find Firefox much quicker on my system and I like the way it can be configured with plugins and themes but there are devotees of Opera and IE7 who have their own reasons for preferring an alternative. Just let him try it and come to his own conclusion.

I have yet to see a home computer that has been hacked or has caught a virus through IE...myths. As I am not a surfing tart all I want is a browser that gets me around without add-ons, bells and whistles...life is too short for all that hokum.

Two threads on the same subject? Don't really see the point. Surely you could have done this on one thread.
I use both but prefer IE.
