I have just acquired a new PC. AMD Sempron 3000+OS Win XP Home sp2. IE6Whenever I view a saved web page or a Word document, it does not scroll smoothly. It judders like the old-fashioned arrivals/departure boards at stations!I have checked the box ‘scroll smoothly’ in the ‘Advanced’ section of Internet Properties.Any advice would be appreciated.
In case you unse a Microsoft mouse you might try to install this click here
Probilitydrive.I use a wireless keyboard and mouse.Belkin.Has worked well for 12 months, batteries are good and PC responds promptly.Except for scrolling.
Is your graphics card installed properly?Check device manager.
Have you installed the latest graphics drivers they should be on one of the disks you got with the PC
Graphics cards?? Hhmmm. Not too smart on these things! The disc supplied is WinFast Utility CD.Items listed are:Chipset devicesDevice driversSuper utilitiesAdobe etc
It should be in the device drivers section. I know that if I do a fresh install of my operating system before I install the graphics drivers I get the jerky scrolling you describe.
Just a thought if it is an onboard graphics chip the drivers will be in the chipsetdrivers section. I would put the disk in and install anything that refers to graphics.
I shall insert the disc and see whats in the device drivers section.
Back soon! I hope!
Yes, the installation of the Graphics drivers solved the problem. I can scroll this page very nicely!!My thanks to one and all.PS. There is also a floppy disc in the bundle, called Media shield (NVRAID)What is it for! or this a new thread? !!!
