Why are some of my file names in blue?

I was rather surprised today when in went into a folder that holds about 100 PDFs to find that some of the files names have changed text colour to blue.

As far as I can tell I haven't done anything that should cause this and it only seems to be this one folder.

What does this indicate and what has triggered its appearance?

They have been "compressed" by Windows.
To remove this "compression" just right-click the files/folders and select "Properties". Click the "Advanced" button and untick the "Compress contents to save disk space" option and click OK

Windows automatically compresses old files if they haven't been used in a while to save disc-space

Yes, obvious now. I used XP's Disk Cleanup which "compresses old files".

Thanks matty
