Whilst using Google Earth as short while ago

  jack 17:36 25 May 2008

It stopped performing/
Click on the Icon and a hesitant hourglass- then back to deck top.
Clicked to the program- tried there- nozzing
So uninstalled it.
Reinstalled it still nozzing

System Restore than nozzing.

Then it occurred to me- This is not really a program we have here is it ?
It is I guess a portal to the server in Silicon Valley- so perhaps a problem out/up there someplace.
Could I be right?

yes sounds as if the server was down.

The program icon in 'Programs' offers -
Open in Direct X 9 mode
Open in GL mode mode

Whuch should it be?

I've had exactly the same thing the last two times I've used it on a PC that doesn't give me an ounce of trouble.

Both times I've had to switch the PC off at the base as it's frozen completely whilst using GE.

I tried to update it a short while ago and the server was down....

Have tried now [08.35]
and got - panel up - 'Google Earth has a problem.'
Oh well just when I needed a map -out with the dogeared 1999 AA then

I have just opened my Google Earth, no problem, everything as normal! I am in UK.

How did this come about?
It did go away and nor respond that's for sure.
The problem compounded however when I removed the 'program' and re downloaded.
There is a new version Beta 4.3
This I downloaded and it failed to function
Removed it and did a CClean
New download of 4.2
All O.K now.
So 4.3 Beta is not for me -- yet
How about you all?

  Technotiger 11:21 26 May 2008

Mine is Version 4.3.7191.6508 (beta) - but has never given me any problem, runs perfectly every time.
