Which USB 2 cards use NEC chipset?

Have just submitted the following query to ConsumerWatch forum but I think HelpDesk is more appropriate for this:-

I wish to upgrade to USB 2 & I see from this thread click here that a card using NEC chipset is recommended.

My question is how can we tell which cards use the NEC chipset & does anyone know which of the cheaper cards use this chipset?

What nonesense, a usb2 card is usb2 card, chipset rubbish, it either works or it doesn't, it's as simple as that, the dearest have no advantage over the cheapest regardless of chipset.

Buy what you can afford, the only time money should come into question is when you consider build quality.
