Looking to buy a 15" TFT Monitor and am deciding between - CTXS500 and Dabsvalue LM520A. I liked PCworld 15" at £189 but guarantee only 1 year!
Readers views and suggestions will be much appreciated.

Looking to make a similar purchase and am just starting to do the research.
Likewise, any thoughts appreciated.

I seem to think the Dabs Value Monitors are rebranded AOC monitors. The model numbers are the same they just changes it from AOC to Dabs Value. You mention the Dabsvalue LM520A well there's a AOC LM520A if ya get my drift. The 17" are the same.
I have the 17" AOC and i'm very happy with it

A good price but sometimes stock runs out so keep in touch with them, fortunately I live near and visit in person.

Its only £298 at Staples. Out of stock when I called but in at end of January. The Medion 17" at same price is in middle of this month, so they said at Cricklewood branch, London. Am advised to ring in before calling. It seems the price is going to keep falling so it may pay to wait a while.

Just to add that they have 5.1 medion speakers at £39 which I think is an amazing deal if I did.nt have one already.This consists of one amp+subwoofer and 5 satelite speakers, one centre, two front and two rear.

Yep I got my AOC 17" TFT from Staples(Southport branch) for £298 just after Xmas

A word for Novatech.
They have 17" monitors including the one I am using at very similar prices.

Mine so far flawless, has speakers which work but are NOT Hi-Fi and wouldn't recommend them unless like me you are short of desk space.
Without speakers - you are under £300

Many thanks to you all especially Aletank whose info tends me towards the Dabs Monitor. However, I will waite for other comments over the next 24 hours.

If you want a 17 inch TFT with DVI connection PCW are advertising the Philips 170 B2 for £399. ( a bummer for me as I purchased when it was £499!). Significantly more than the others suggested but I don't think any of them have DVI? ?I'm very satisfied with mine. Over to you for the hard part - the decision :>}
