which sound card Ram

  taffhughes 20:35 11 Feb 2005

I am looking to fit a new graphic card
Can anyone tell me which type of graphics card ram I should use on my pc
I have a Mesh 2800 with 512DDR ram, ASUS A7NVM400 motherboard and 128 (sma) graphics card

My problem is that some cards are advertised with 256 ram and others with 256DDR ram

What do you want it for? Hardcore gaming will need something much better than DVD watching.

Diodorus Siculus
Thanks for the reply
I mainly watch DVD but do play the odd game
I find that if I play splinter cell the screen freezes up and even though I have 512 Ram fitted only 481 is showing , yes I know that the missing ram is being used by the on board graphics card.
All I would like to know is which type of Ram, Standard or DDR for Graphics card for my pc

Most graphics cards come with DDR these days; as you have shared graphics now, any modern card will be a vast improvement. Do you have an AGP slot or will you have to go with PCI? click here
Everest will id the mobo for you.
