I am interested in buying a scanner. My requirements are: 1) i should able to scan photos which r suiatble for presentations. 2) also with goodsoftwares like OCD. 3) also scan negatives but not necessary.
I am a Canon man through and through - their products can't be beaten in my book. So it might sound strange that when I bought a new scanner last year, I actually opted for an Epson 2580 photo over the Canon equivalent. And haven't looked back since as the quality and speed are both absolutely A1. The 2580 has been superseded now, but I understand the new model is also as good. As advised, read a few reviews.
PS - scans 35mm negs and slides to a quality quite sufficient to enlarge to A3. Not too easy with other neg sizes. Get the model with the auto 35mm loader if you're going down the Epson route - it makes life very easy.
There are more, so all depends on your budget. As I'm also after a scanner, I've been doing some research over the past few weeks & will most probably go for the Epson 3490, mainly because of the low price & good reviews. Unfortunately, no prices have been lowered (yet), so what sales do you speak of? G
