I would appreciate any info that you guys can give me. I am in a bit of a dilema as to which Processor / motherboard I should go for. I have a P2 333mz at present and want to upgrade. I want to be able to edit analogue camcorder videos. I have a DC10 plus video editing card and Pinacle 7 software and as you can imagine it is painstakingly slow. What do you think would be the best / cost effective option? P4 or AMD and which appropriate motherboard. I presently have Sound, Video capture, modem, usb, PCI cards so may need at least 5 PCI slots. I would appreciate any feedback which may help. I intend to upgrade the machine my self.
Thanks for your time.
Steve

An Intel 2.4GHz 533FSB model - or faster if it suits your pocket.

A motherboard with Intel 845PE chipset supporting 333MHz DDR RAM and USB2

512Mb (or more to suit pocket, if OS to be WinXP) - make sure you get 1st grade memory, not 3rd or OEM grade.

6 USB ports - supporting USB2.

Most have 5.1 sound fitted already, which is more than adequate.

A TOP quality fan for the processor.
