Which operating system should I be on

I have been on W98 for long enough to know it does most of what I need, and truth to tell I was quite happy with W98 before that. Only problem is that I now find W98 limited on memory. Which system should I go for next please. I don't want anything that's not proven & have to get hundreds of updates! What are the memory limits of the other systems available now please.

Will it be on the same machine, or another? If the same one, then go for Win2k - excellent OS to my mind.

If you are getting a new machine, then go for WinXP.

What is the specification of your machine - ie processor / memory

What do you mean "limitted on memory"?

If I would like to make a CD about my subject that is not music based, say for example gardening or fishing. How can I do it without having someone crib it. How can I get copyright, and what is the best way to make good copy to sell? I have published books but know little/nothing about CD's. I have had some of my published written work "pinched" for internet use....but it is not cost effective to follow up on it so far as I know.
