hi,
I know all about viruses and that you need virus protection, but it just slows my computer down. So what i do is use a online virus scanner and that gets the job done, And now i would like your opinions,
Which one is best and does it remove the viruses,
Most common ones are

trend micro housecall
Etrust web scanner

But is there any better ones.

Thanks

Ben.

Hold on, the best do not necessarily need to slow your PC down. What are you using at the moment?

In which case I suggest you download and install click here or click here immediately.

You need REAL TIME protection, not just the occasional visit to an online scanner.

An online scanner will only remove (if your lucky) the virus after its installed and done the damage.

Some viruses will even stop your PC from booting.

Avast or AVG both free (see Jackcoms links) provide top class protection and use little resources.

I use the Panda and McAfee ones on PC Pitstop click here

I agree with Jackcoms (been using the free AVG for over a year).

I'd also recommend to run an online AV scanner (or two) every once in a while - I do it about once every 3-4 months.

And, while your at it, an online antispyware scanner (click here &/or click here) every now & again to complement Windows Defender (Win2000+), Ad-aware & SpywareBlaster. G
