I want to upgrade my system to use the Athlon 2700XP+ or above. I am unsure which motherboard I will need to make full use of the processor & it's 333Mhz FSB. I have read different reviews about motherboards for this type of processor but have become more confused with contradicting information. Please could you help.

Have a look at the home page of AMD for approved boards that work well with the CPU, then compare this with the info. you have and your own preferences. click here J.

I have no personal experience, but it is generally thought that the nVidia nForce2 chipset is best platform for AMD, especially the 333MHz FSB.

It also has good stable support for DDR333 and DDR400 memory (but it's dual channel, so you need to pair them up I think). You may find motherboards using this chipset pricier than the competition.

click here for some reviews, but all the major motherboard manufacturers will have one or more models.
