Which graphics card?

I've bought a dell dimension 3100c and want to get a graphics card to play games like battle for middle earth2 and aoe3, does anyone know what graphics card will be compatible?

Unfortunately the 3100c budget system does not cater for PCI-E or AGP. The best you could do is to use an ordinary pci ( 33mhz ) graphics card.

Your pc has only two PCI slots and one PCI-e x1 slot.

In order to fit a seperate graphics card you need an available PCI-e x16 slot.

The only type of plug in graphics card available to you is a very basic PCI slot card and these wont play the games you mention adequately.

Sadly,in order to cut costs to the bare minimum companies like DELL sacrifice just about all upgradability on their budget machines.

Short of replacing the motherboard there is little you can do.

i've been doing some reading and it says it has 3 low profile slots - 2 pci and 1 pci express (1x) is that the wrong kind of pci express slot or what?

" is that the wrong kind of pci express slot or what? "

Sorry but yes, it is the wrong type of slot.

the 1x PCI-Express is for non graphics, such as new type sound cards etc etc
