Which email programme to choose

Live Mail has won! I want to move to a new email prog. But which? Free or paid for isn't the issue. I just want a simple way to send and receive mails, occasionally attaching a document or an image, without the need for fancy work-arounds. Oh yes, and an easy-to-manage contacts/address book. I run Windows 7 Professional and my very economical broadband package, with excellent security, is from TalkTalk. Can anyone speak from experience and suggest something reliable and really worth trying? Please....?

Google mail or Thunderbird.. Google both and see what you think after downloading them and trying them out. What is the problem with Hotmail ?

If you are using any version of Windows office (from 2000 up), the Office Email system gives a good run for the money.

Gmail is very good at sorting spam from wanted mail and being web based, it can be accessed from anywhere. Thoroughly recommended. I also use Thunderbird, OK, but has its little quirks.

You could try Opera - this includes a very good email facilty within the browser and will handle POP or IMAP servers. I've used it for years and wouldn't change. Have a look http://www.opera.com/download/
