I have the LG GSA 4163B it supports all formats +DL and DVD-RAM.It will write a movie disk in just under 10mins at 8x speed for me and has only rejected 2 pieces of media both of which were RW disks. They have recently released an updated version which support -DL as well which is the GSA 4165B PC Pro gave it 5/6.
That didn't read too well it supports +/- R/RW +DL and DVD-RAM
click here and click here I have always used pioneer DVD re-writers as i think they are superb and at £33 you cant go wrong
Try SVP. They also sell the media and test compatibility. Current good buy is the NEC 3540 for about £30 (burns dual layer as well and has 16x speed on DVD-R, +R) CD writes at 48x.
pardon my ignorance what is meant by dual layer? (not intending to hi jack the thread)johnny.
Dual layer DVDs are twice the capacity approx of a standard DVD. They are more expensive (obviously), but would be useful if you need more data than a standard DVD would accomodate.Don't ask me how they work.
Dual layer is exactly what it says on the tin2 layers of dye. the 1st layer gets burnt to then the second layer
Thanks everbody for your quick replies an advice, should have enough info nowcheers big geof
