I'm looking for a new graphics card on click here What's the difference between a GF6600 and GF6600GT?
The GT is slightly more expensive and only 128Mb memory, whereas the plain 6600 has 256Mb memory and cheaper...
I'm clueless when it comes to gfx cards and desperately need something to upgrade my ageing fx5200. Budget is about £70.

Both are a big step up from a an fx5200.

The 6600Gt is a lot faster than the basic 6600......if you are a gamer then the 6600GT is the card you should go for.

The amount of onboard memory will not make a difference on those cards.128MB is more than enough.

Check the power rating of your psu......the 6600GT needs a decent quality supply of around 350W.If yours is less than 300W then you might be better looking at the basic 6600 model.

A bit more information on the spec of your pc and what you do with it would help us clarify things.

Thanks for the info. I never even thought about PSU. I have a 300W PSU. Would the 6600GT work?
I just play games occasionally but would like the graphical increase and better frame rates.

A 300W psu should be fine with a 6600GT.

And click here will give you an idea of the difference in performance between a 6600 and 6600GT.

if you shop around, you can get a 7600GT.
