Use Opera as your browser. It has its own built in stopper.

Try Ad-ware 6.0 I installed it a couple of days ago ... seems OK and recommended by this very magazine.

?

AdAware doesn't stop popups on my machine. If it does on yours, can you say how you have it set up?

Proxomitron - it's available in the downloads section (or on the cover disk of the latest C--p---r Sh-p--r)!

If you use it make sure you configure it exactly as stated in the Help.

It stops popups, adverts etc and is superbly efficient. I've been using it for about six months after my son, an IT support specialist, recommended it.

I have just installed the Google toolbar which has a pop up stopper included and it works!! Beside having Google on your IE window the stopper is very good. By the way ,Adaware as far as I know is not supposed to stop pop ups, it is just a spyware removal tool.

Are there problems with the google toolbar working from behind a proxy server?

Just installed it and IE went to pot....removed it and it's back to normal!
