Where has the Fonts gone?

OS XP Home sp2.

Some how, I have lost Times New Roman font, also Lucida Handwriting.

I installed Word 97 on my new PC several months ago, and used Times New Roman font always as default. Yesterday I looked for Lucida Handwriting font, but could not find it in the Font list.
Later in the day when I opened Word document, I found that the font had changed to Arial!!! And no sign of Times new Roman on the font list!!
What has happened?

I hold the original Word Disks and licence, is there an easy way to locate them on the discs, or do I have to reinstall the lot?

Thank you.

'or do I have to reinstall the lot?'

If you pop the Word Disk in it might give you the option repair.

click here Assuming of course that they are still in the fonts folder and have just been "mislaid" by Word!

Thank you LAP.
I tried the disk yesterday, but it gave me no options.
I guess it may have to be a 'reinstall' job!

Many thanks for your kind suggestions.

I have to reinstall to resolve the problem.

You can download both these fonts quite easily

Download Lucida Handwriting from click here

and Times New Roman from click here

Download them to your desktop, then open your Fonts folder (via Control panel) and drag the font files into the folder

PS Lucida is on page L3 on index
