I have just downloaded an updated Canon printer driver for an i455 but I have no idea where this file should go. I have Windows XP Home. All help appreciated.
If you double click it does it just not install over the older driver automatically?
Sounds a good idea, I'll give it a go.
If I am correct, then the update should find your Canon printer file, if installed on your computer, and update accordingly.
Try Totally-braindead's way first. If that doesn't work find your printer in Control panel > Printers.Right click on the particular printer, choose properties then the driver tab and the "update driver" button. You probably won't need to do it this way, but it is nice to have a plan "B".
Double-clicking did the trick! I'm too cautious for my own good. (I think we ought trade nom de plumes, Totally-braindead).
