Click run & type: winipcfg and click OK.
type command in the run box and when you get the prompt type ipconfig. you should see your ip address
XP Start/ All Programs /Accessories /Command Prompt.... type in ipconfig /alland hit Return (Enter)

I stand corrected, (but it does work in ME).
Remember, if you're on a dial up connection, and some types of ADSL, you get a different IP address each time you connect (out of the range of addressses your ISP has available.
