Where do I change the monitor refresh rate? Will this help smoth scrolling?

  Udder 20:38 12 Jul 2004

From the desktop click Start
click Settings
click Control Panel
click Display
click Settings tab
click Advanced
click the Adaptor tab
At bottom of page see Refresh Rate
click the arrow to select a rate.
Don't Know if this will improve your scrolling or not.

Will stop the screen looking like a faulty floursecent tube (if you notice, some bods are more sensitive to a flickering screen than others). Pick at least 75Mhz. As for smooth scroling, i would hazard a guess not.

I think you should be careful about increasing the monitor refresh rate unless you're sure your monitor supports that value.

About smooth scrolling: In IE, click on Tools -> Internet options -> Advanced. Scroll down to 'Use smooth scrolling' & tick/untick the box as required. Click on Apply, OK. For a tutorial (if you're using WinXP} you can look at this click here. HTH, G
