Where can I download cracks (safely)

  davehyde 19:25 07 Feb 2003

Two years ago my nephews bought me Discworld Noir for the PC. My PC at the time was struggling. It ran Windows 95 and no way would it manage Discworld!

Just updated (at long last) the PC and I'm now on XP. But Discworld Noir won't run on this either. I'd guess I need a crack/workround of some description.

I found a "crack site" using Google. But the download page was full of porn(!) so I obviously didn't risk any downloads there!

Anyone know of any "safe" sites or workarounds - it'd be a shame never to use the game...

You are on the wrong site for "cracks".

You shouldn't be using cracksites at all. The problem you are having is that the game is not compatable with WinXP. You could try using the option (doing this from memory as I don't use XP...) that allows programs to run in a Win 9x environment (or something like that!) Someone else will be able to tell you exactly how to do it I guess. If that doesn't work, then that's pretty much it, you won't be able to use the game on XP!

If you want to run a program on XP that is not compatible then Right click on the icon on desktop, choose properties and then compatibility, change the way it runs
