Where best to install third hard drive

I've just fitted a new Soyo motherboard with raid facilty. And have installed two ATA-133 drives onto the two raid channels (not as a RAID), and one optical drive onto each of the two IDE channels all works fine.

My question is if I'm two fit a third hard drive (ATA 66) mainly as a mp3 storage drive, which channel would be best to fit it to?

Maybe with "indendent device timing" this is not an issue?

As it is an ATA66 drive, I would recommend setting it as a master to one of the optical drives, which becomes a slave.

As it will be storing mp3s (which presumably will be copied to CD), connect it to the same IDE as the optical drive that is not your CD writer (i.e. your DVD player or CD player).

Be careful about where you physically fit it - I found that the temperature of my 3rd HDD became excessive, when I first fitted it right next to an existing HDD. I ended up fitting it in a Coolermaster drive casing in a 5 1/4 bay.

Thanks your comments make sense, as it's a 5 pci slot mobo I have some free space in the bottom, right next to my case fan.
