6200se turbo cache? I there much difference between that and the 6600ultra in power consumption?

Looking at the power supply calculator click here, the allowance for graphics card power ranges from about 20W to 80W, so if you are having to worry about the difference between a 6600 ultra and a 6200se turbo cache, then you need to think about upgrading your power supply anyway.

My GeForceFX 5200 graphics card requires a minimum of 300w and preferably 350w according to the manual.

I bought a 500w PSU to be sure after discovering what I thought was a 235w Enermax PSU I've been using for around six years was just 100w (but quality of watts is more important than quantity, so a good PSU brand is essential).

this PC is a compaq presario it has a 300w PSU.
athlon 64 3700+
6200se 256mb graphics
1 dvd drive
2 sata drives
2 512 sticks of ram

The above is the machine as when it was bought.

I was going to add another 2 512 sticks of ram, another dvd drive and up the graphics to the 6600ultra.

I'm thinking of not bothering with upping the gfx card and just waiting for the next microsoft OS to come out and buy a wopping PC then.

Still going to put in the extra drive and ram.

I would say a Tagan 480W Silent like click here would be ideal. G
