whats needed for start up

Can anyone tell me how you find out what programmes are required for the pc to start up, have run msconfig -start up but rhere are so amny how do you know which ones are important and which clog up as I dont want to disable any unless I know, can you tell by the file path or something. one of them is called DRAGDIAG what the hell is that

You definately need your antivirus, firewall and any antispyware apps with real time protection to run at startup. If you want post a list of the items you have running at startup here.

This is a useful tool that will help identify startup items (there are lots of them, though !)
