What's happened to my Temp Internet Files?

Hello, can anyone help me - each time I run disk clean up my Temporary Internet Files box has a locked padlock for it's icon (I don't think that it was always this, but can't remember?) and it lists the file size as 0kb. The other day whilst checking my PC if ound that the four files had over 3000 items between them, yet Disk Clean up stated nothing. I manually deleted all the temp files. However when using the net again the TIF refills itself (as it should) but when I tell Disk clean up to clear it out nothig happens...can I change the icon from a locked padlock and once agin be able to clear out my files? Also does anyone know why this has happened?

Browse to and delete the files manually, what OS are you using?

poogles - I did that, but I wonder why my Disk Cleanup won't work. I'm using XP home (service pack 1)

Mine does sometimes.

Another windows way to do it, in internet explorer. Go to tools, internet options, and then on the general page click delete cookies and delete files.
