My partner wants to do a computer course to do with office, but she is unsure what to do. Does she do C&G IT quals, CLAIT or ECDL. I favour ECDL as i did 3 years ago, but she would prefer advice from someone other than me. Typical women.

I would recommend ECDL, just near the end of my course, and its been interesting. The basic stuff is a little "oh no not again", but the rest is ok. Once complete, I may go on to the next level in September.
As a house husband, its nice to keep my brain busy, after all the house work is done, of course !

I gained C&G in I.T. a few years ago. C&G will certainly help if she is considering a job that involves using a pc.

It's a good, recognised, qualification to have (and to add to her cv).

If you have not have any courses under your belt, you will probably have no option but to do the CLAIT course first

Depending on computer 'savvy', I would suggest a starting point at CLAIT level then ECDL. City and Guilds qualifications tend to be slightly old hat nowadays.
