Whats AMD's fastest processor they have made?

Im thinking of buying, a AMD Phenom x4 Core Processor 9500.

Ive heard that this is a good one, but is it really?
And im not to sure on the '9500'. Is this a good number, or can i get better.??

if you are upgading make sure that it will work as i read a bios upgrade is sometimes needed before phenom cpu is recognised.

I have just upgraded to the 9600, and as citadel has said, a bios upgrade was required.

As for the cpu, its brill.

Thanks for that, but im just buying it as a new computer from pc world.

Would you have any knowledge on if its the fastest AMD out??

CPU speeds are increased almost on a weekly basis - I'm sure that the 9600 will more than serve your requirements for some time to come...:-)
