whats AMD® Athlon64™ X2 3800+ Processor (2.00GHz, 2x512K cache) , but the main bit i wana know if this is a dual processer??

yes it is.

it will be either a socket 939 or a AM2.

Yes it's dual core...the X2(times 2) is the giveaway.

The 3800+ tells you that it is the equivalent of a P4 of around 3.8GHz.

In other words,even though it is dual core it is not as fast as the best single core processors.

This might matter because it means that each individual core is not that quick and for intensive single thread programs,like most games for example,you might be better with a fast single core cpu.

It's a AMD Athlon™ 64 X2 Dual-Core. That means it can multi task better. It should have 2 sets of cache to handle both sides of the cpu.
