I have noticed a neww (recent) file in my Documents & Setting titled `WinDisk.log. When I open it I find a number of entries, most are dated 8 Feb 2006, which are similar to the examples below. Can anyone tell me what they mean or are for? I have two Maxtor drves both the same size so I have no idea if it refers to one or both of them.

Seems likely that it is the result of some monitoring software. Do you have any disk utilities installed?

Thanks for responding.

Not that I`m aware of. But then I have tried many of the cover disk applications so I suppose it could be one of those. I do have Nero installed and that has a utility for testing some speeds and things. I also have Everest Home Edition. Could it be something to do with one of these?

Neither Nero nor Everest as far as I am aware - I've both and don't get the file.

Anyway, I don't think it should be a cause for concern.

Thanks for your help. I shall ignore it unless I hear funny noises!!!
