what type of sound card: any ides??

well as I know got all that recording busy done, i just need to buy my New soudn cards,

can any one recommed what kind I need?

I do the following:

I do wacth DVD
Plays games and Online games
I wish to recored: sounds, and odl tapes( as many might know)
I have alot of muics

I have no plans to connect my PC to hi fi system

althorugh I do have some good speakers

for around £20/25 you can get the audigy 2 ZS on ebay (can recommend seller as have just bought one) excellent for movies, music and games. best part is that on a surround sound system (5.1 or higher, not sure about other set ups) you can set the sound levels of each speaker independently.

as for other makes of sound card, cannot recommend anything as have only ever used soundblaster (creative labs) from the good old days of ISA to the present and have always been impressed with the sound quality (also depends on the speakers used).

If you wish to go a bit further, although the audigy 2 zs is a great card, the it is hard to beat the creative x-fi range, they actually live up to the hype.

I got the X-Fi XtremeMusic, the diff after using onboard sound is amazing (esp as I'm hard of hearing).
