I've just brought a broadband router, and one of the requirements is that I need a 'Straight-Through' cat 5 cable. I was just wondering if this was the same as an ordianry cat 5 cable? Also what about 'Patch' cables?

Any advice appreciated.

as a *standard* cat5 cable....

As opposed to a *crossover* cable ...

So you are lookin for a regular , normal, run of the mill, ordinary, bog standard, cat 5 cable!!!!

A crossover cable is for networking directly two PCs together without a HUB or router.

In your case stick to stanard CAT 5s
