Morning all,

Im thinking of getting a router. I will be having a Max of 2 PC's. My main requirment is for speed, so im really asking what would be the fastest router for me..

Many Thanks.

The fastest routers for speed are the wired ones - not wireless and you haven't mentioned any O/S. or whether ADSL or Cable or BB or dialup.

Ah, ok, yes im ADSL 512K and run windows XP, although my new system will have XP Pro.

I mainly use BB for online gaming, so responce times are important to me rather than fancy functions.

A good cable/dsl router (wired) is the Linksys 4 port with switch BEFSR41 which is Universal plug and play and has a wizard programme to assist in setup. It will take up to 4 PC's - more info contained on the "Educate Me" and "Support" link
tabs on the website. The BEFSR41 Tech-helper link
provides a step by step install guide.

The BEFSR41 is mainly used on cable - you would be better checking the ADSL Guide. Probably better off with a combined ADSL router/modem

This also seems a good info link on ADSL

Hi, I use the Netgear DG834 combined router/modem and its excellent. It is 4 port, cable connected, unlike the 834g which is wireless. Regards, Meshuga.
