I am interested in buying a new pc but i don't have a clue what to buy. Its primary purpose will be for gaming but i will also want to use it to play and burn cds and dvds and i will use it for school work. I have about 1200 euro to spend. Is that enough to get a decent gaming pc? if so what would you suggest i buy?
smcg69, as it's mainly for gaming, the three main considerations are:
i)CPU ii)Graphics card iii)Amount of RAM.
In order, a Pentium 4 or Athlon XP/64 CPU rated at 3GHz or above to get the best out of the graphics card. To play the latest games at decent settings, you should look to having an Nvidia 6600GT or better. As to the amount of RAM, you would need 1GB of RAM(or 1.5GB according to some).
You might struggle to get a system at the ideal specification for just over £800 :(
There are some good base units on this site that meet your requirements and are in your price rangeclick here
thanks a lot for answering. i have found a number of pcs and was wondering which would be the best. i was thinking of probably upgrading the graphics card in them. what would you suggest to upgrade to considering i am on a budget?
