Yes, that spec is fine for your usage. You could even do with a lower spec, but I guess going for more will last you longer. How much will you be paying for it?

I would change the graphics to a better one though - like a HD4670. May increase the overall cost by £30. G

Thanks for quick reply price will be £375 for just the base unit , is that an ok price ?? , i also dont understand how the new unit has a 2.3ghz cpu , and will be quicker than my 4 year old 3.2ghz ?

Thanks

That's not bad for £350 - I'm guessing it's this Advent click here / click here.

The new CPU should be considerably quicker as it's a quad-core - that's 4 cores instead of one in the old CPU. Although you may not find much difference in Windows, you'll find it considerably faster in other tasks that make use of the extra cores.

A few benchmarks at Passmark. Will not tell the true/real-world difference, but I suppose some comparison is better than none!

Intel P4 3.2 / 3.4Ghz click here (519) / click here (544)

AMD Phenom X4 9650 click here (2623)

The HD4350 may be good enough for C&C, so I reckon you can postpone buying a better GPU till after you've had a chance to see how C&C fares with it. G
