Along with my startup error which reads "C:\Windows\_DEFAU~1.pif Invalid program file name choose close to terminate application" is another window called C:\windows\system32\ntvdm.exe which opens in the background. I found this file in the registry and windows directory but am wary to disable or delete it since I have a very limited knowledge about registries or the file itself.
Is this file important? Will disabling the registry key or deleting the executable file get rid of my startup error message?? Can I run or open the executable file?? (Thinking that there is possibly a programming line which refers to the DEFAU~1.pif file)
