Firstly, whats your budget and do you know what slot you need, e.g. AGP, PCI-E?

You do need to find out if your motherboard has an AGP or PCI-E slot. If it hasn't your options are very limited.

Could you explain a bit more about what you are trying to do?

What are you wanting to run on the tv?

Is it a normal tv or an HDTV.....normal tvs don't make good monitors if you are wanting to display text.

If it's dvd/videos you want to feed to your tv you don't need a very expensive graphics card.

However you need to identify if your computer has a dedicated graphics card slot...this is not the same as a pci slot.

We need to know what you are wanting to do, and the specification/make/model of your pc so we can tell what type of card you can fit and what sort of card would give you the results you want.
