What graphic card have I got

  tonyx1302 22:06 31 Jan 2006

I am just about to down load Google Earth but after reading other posts, wonder if I have enough memory and the right Grap.card installed to get the best from the Google site.

Belarc tells me under DISPLAY that I have a Radeon7000/Radio VV and have 512Mg.and don't use my pc for games etc

Just download and see

It's a fairly old graphics card. I suspect the only way to find out, is to try it.

Not quite sure what else to suggest.

Tried that but wasn't very impressed with the result so have deleted Earth. Rotten graphics and not very clear on any locations so I checked the Helproom before d/loading again for any advice. I just wonder is my graph card man enough for the job ?

The resolution is not good for many parts of the UK. Try London - is that OK?

Have tried a lot of sites....Nelson Col. Vatican,Grand Canyon etc plus Spain, Germany and Africa locations and was very disapointed, so be fore I re-install I thought the boys in the Technical Dept of Helproom would know if my G/card was the fault

As an after thought, if my card is old as Mr Beeline suggests how expensive and what card should I buy to replace it. I will not be playing any games on my pc if that is relevant

Thanks for any help. I will check back in the morning as I need my beauty sleep.

  SG Atlantis® 22:51 31 Jan 2006

I have the nvidia 6200 256mb. It copes well with games on med to low and performs well with everything else and in Google Earth I can see my garden furniture too.

The card is about 50 to 60 quid.

Thanks VoG & SG Atlantis. The card sounds what I need but is mine past its sell by date as thought by Mr Beeline? Also can anyone install them easily and is there a site that will give diagrams/instructions please.

I have only 256M RAM (after my other 256M died), a 1.6G Duron and an old GeForce2 MX 400 graphics card, and Google Earth works fine. The graphics in Google Earth aren't very clear in some places just because the high resolution images aren't available yet click here
