  Shepstar 20:45 07 May 2006

I went to start up my computer this morning and nothing came up on my monitor, in face within about 5 sec from power on all i got was an error tone that lasted 2-3 secs then when silent for a few secs and then repeted. I tried powering off and on again almost a dozen times in the vain hope it was just a freak error, alas to no avail. For some reason I cant seem to find out what 1 long error tone means, can anyone advise?

My Specs are:
Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe, nForce4 SLI, Socket-939,S-ATA,Dual-GbLAN,Firewire,PCI-Ex16

AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ 2.0GHz Socket 939, 1MB, BOXED w/fan

2 x Corsair Value S. PC3200 DDR-DIMM 2048MB Kit w/two matched Value Select 1024MB

Creative SB X-Fi XtremeMusic PCI, Retail

RADEON X1300 512MB 128-bit

Thanks, skidzy!

Shepstar - if your beep code is not mentioned on two of the best-known beep code lists, is that my fault?

One long beep (AMI) means all Post tests have been completed; one long and two or three short in Award indicates video related problem (card or no video card/bad video RAM respectively).

Check the memory as well make sure its seated properly if you have 2 sticks try removing one and just booting with it if that doesnt work try the other one

As I'm not aware of the Bios supplier for your Asus board try checking the post beeps sequence errors at:
