if I had a budget of about £400
should I choose laptop or a big pc thingy

i use the computer for internet browsing and watching dvds and downloading videos

so picture quality is important

any reccomendations on what I should buy with £400

If you have room, the sensible think would be to buy a desktop. As these are easy to repair if things go wrong, a lot less expensive and with help you can do it your self.

With that budget you'll find that, in general, the picture quality on a 'big pc thingy' is very similar to that on a little laptop thingy.

So, I think your decision is whether you want the portability of a little laptop thingy or a big pc thingy which will stay in one place.

The most you can get for your money.

Have you bothered to look at any of the manufacturers sites yet to get an idea of what £400 will buy?

the big pc thingy option is upgradable i would probably go for click here with click here as others have said laptops are usually return to base if any problems arise.

on the above lap top,
what should i be looking for,
