What is DCOMSS.exe / RPCSS.exe?

  LeadWeight 11:16 08 Feb 2006

While using the internet my McAfee firewall often pops up with a request whether to allow DCOMMSS.exe / RPCSS.exe access to the internet. I always give instructions for no access, which results in no obvious difference to my surfing capabilitiy. If anyone knows why this happens or what these programs are I would be gratefull as I could then set my firewall to recognise these programs and allow them automatic access to the internet without the need to keep asking me.
