I have given up Acronis. If I try to do a complete system backup it finds some bits it can't backup. After a recent system crash the recovery disc didn't work. I have decided to just copy all mydocuments to my external hard disc once a week. Then I don't need a program to recover them - just copy them back. It doesn't take much longer then Acronis and I have plenty of space. My question is should I copy anything else? I am aware that there is a whole lot of stuff in documents and settings - should I copy some of that?. If I buy a new computer with Vista rather than XP would any/all of documents and settings usefully transfer to the new System?
