What are run time errors and how to stop them?

  DJ Si 18:59 02 Jun 2003

I run windows XP. Sometimes while using the internet, it brings up a run-time error message. What does this mean, what's possibly causing it and how do I solve it? It asks me to debug, but when I do, the computer hangs. It only happens every now and then.

Any ideas?

In Internet Explorer, Tools/Internet Options, Advanced tab.

Tick Disable script debugging and UNtick Display a notification about every script error.

It's a script debugger. Script debuggers are used by Web site developers to test programs and scripts on their Web pages. The script error option Specifies whether to display the actual script errors when a page does not appear properly due to problems with its scripting.

1. Open Internet Explorer.

2. Click on Tools, then on Internet Options.

3. Click on the Advanced tab.

4. Look for the "Disable script debugging" line and put a check mark in the box.

5. Now look for the "Display a notification about every script error" line and remove the check mark in the box.
