What are the dangers of working in "safe mode"

  questions4u 12:33 16 Jul 2010

After problems with my video card I am temporarily "using Safe mode for networking". It seems little different to my usual windows. Are there dangers using this for too long before I fit a new card? cheers

No, but you may find a lack of functions in some programs.

I don't think there are any dangers attached to using this for too long as you only have basic files and drivers loaded plus networking.

If you do intend to fit a new graphics card remember the basic rule to completely remove the old drivers before installing any new drivers.

What about removing the old card and using the onboard graphics on the motherboard for the time being?

Surely there is a problem if you connect to the internet in safe mode as usually the anti virus etc is not loaded? I disconnect my ethernet cable in Safe mode
